Jim McCormick – “Jim McCormick’s songs have sold more records than any New Orleans artist in a generation,” reported John Swenson, Offbeat Magazine. Jim has had his songs recorded by Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, Jamey Johnson, Craig Campbell, Randy Travis, Trisha Yearwood, Trace Adkins, and Ronnie Milsap. He has had 2 songs hit #1 on the billboard country charts, “Take a Little Ride” recorded by Jason Aldean and “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do” recorded by Brantley Gilbert. Jim is a staff writer at BMG-Chrysalis and splits his time between Nashville and New Orleans. Jim is, also, a member of The Wright Brothers along with Paul Sanchez, Alex McMurray, and Spencer Bohren.
Wynn Varble – Representing BMI, Performing Rights Organization, Wynn is a previous NSAI “Songwriter of the Year” recipient and his songs “Waitin’ On A Woman” , “Have You Forgotten” and “A Little More Country Than That” were all nominated for Song Of The Year by either the ACMs or CMAs.
Wynn made the move to Nashville permanently in 92′ and landed a publishing deal with Reba McEntire’s Starstruck Music, where he had his first songwriting success with Sammy Kershaw’s recording of ” Fit To Be Tied Down”. Since then his songs have been recorded by Darryl Worley,Montgomery Gentry, Lee Ann Womack,Gary Allen, Easton Corbin, Kelly Pickler, Jon Pardi, William Michael Morgan, Brad Paisley, Garth Brooks and many others. Wynn, also, appeared for four seasons on “The Joey and Rory Show” and now writes for BMG music and tours regularly.
Charlie Black & Dana Hunt Black – Dana and Charlie Black first met when they were both staff songwriters in Nashville in the mid-90’s. They have been writing, recording, and performing together ever since. Dana has written a number of songs recorded by George Strait including two of his biggest hits – WRITE THIS DOWN and CHECK YES OR NO, both of which went to Number 1 and went on to become ASCAP Song of The Year. She also helped launch Gary Allan’s career writing his first giant hit IT WOULD BE YOU. Among the many artists who have recorded Dana’s songs are Alan Jackson and Suzy Bogguss. Charlie has had songs recorded by a long list of singers from Reba McEntire and Anne Murray to Phil Vassar and Alan Jackson. He has been nominated for two Grammys for A LITTLE GOOD NEWS recorded by Anne Murray and COME NEXT MONDAY by KT Oslin. He is a member of the Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame. Between them, Dana and Charlie have had hundreds of their songs recorded, some 18 of which have reached Number 1. They even wrote a Christmas song for George Strait called I KNOW WHAT I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS. Since 2004, Dana and Charlie have called Port Saint Joe, Florida their home. Their latest album is THE THING TO DO, and they have a new collection of songs in the works.
