Dale Dodson……………………………….Bart Butler
About Dale Dodson –
Dodson a successful publisher and a talented songwriter with many credits including “Look Who’s Back In Town” by George Strait, “Good News, Bad News” and “Everything But Quits” by Strait and Lee Ann Womack, “20 Years And Two Husbands Ago” by Womack, “Senses” by Reba McEntire and “I Bought The Shoes That Just Walked Out On Me” by Dierks Bentley.
After years of writing and working for Sony Tree, Carnival Music brought Dodson in as a consultant in 2010. Because of his knowledge of Country Music and his good nature, he became close to Womack and her husband, Frank Liddell, who owns Carnival. “Not only can Dale write songs that sound like they fell off a 1959 Wurlitzer jukebox,” says Liddell, “but he has the ability to go into a catalogue and understand what kind of songs suit specific artists.”
On a day to day basis, Dodson stays current with the times by working with writers such as Marla Cannon-Goodman, Scooter Caruso, Brent Cobb and Aubrie Sellers. Also, Dodson launched a weekly email blast called The Dodson Files, where he pitches precisely one song to a select number of people in the industry—or as he refers to them, “the ones who make the town spin.”
