3rd Street Songwriters Festival and Ebb & Flow Festival Partner for 2019

The 3rd Street Songwriters Festival and Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge are thrilled to announce their official partnership in 2019 where they will produce the Ebb & Flow Festival and 3rd Street Songwriters Festival concurrently over the April 6 & 7, 2019 weekend in downtown Baton Rouge.

The 3rd Street Songwriters Festival, which provides workshops and performance venues for songwriters to perform and interact with music publishers, producers, and other Nashville industry executives, is in its 5th year of production and brought in over 140 artists from 9 states in 2017. “This festival features local, regional, and Nashville hit songwriters representing multiple genres of music from country and folk to blues and rock in multiple downtown locations during the festival weekend. Music lovers agree that there’s nothing better than hearing the song performed by the person who wrote it and hearing the story behind the song!” Kay Solar (festival producer).

The Ebb & Flow Festival, produced by the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge, drew audiences from a multi-state region as well as tourists and dignitaries from Brazil in 2017, its second year. President/CEO, Renee Chatelain, explained, “Our festival’s missions are aligned in that we want to brand Baton Rouge as an international cultural hub and port, to retain the city’s local talent in multiple creative fields, and to provide Louisiana citizens with high quality entertainment and arts offerings. Collaborating to produce a large-scale weekend event will have a great impact on the city’s ability to draw visitors from the region, the nation, and around the world. Cities like Austin, Nashville, and Birmingham who have leveraged local events to create larger festivals have reaped the direct and secondary economic benefits.”

The organizations are planning a formal announcement of the Ebb & Flow Festival theme and both festivals’ lines ups soon.
